Program #1: Knowing the Code: Life Safety Code Compliance for Healthcare Facilities
The Life Safety Code (LSC) is one of the most referenced documents relative to the design and continued maintenance of healthcare facilities.
Join us for a 90 minute audio conference as we discuss the current requirements of the Joint Commission with respect to the Life Safety Code. We will also evaluate the changes and key drivers for recent LSC revisions, as well as which changes are most relevant to your healthcare facility.
*This program has been approved for .15 CEU and 1.5 CM Continuing Education Credits.
Program #2: OSHA's Targeting of Healthcare Facilities - Preparing Your Facility Before an Inspection
According to current Labor Department statistics, hospitals and personal care facilities employ approximately 1.6 million workers at 21,000 work sites. There are many occupational health and safety hazards throughout the hospital. This audio conference focuses on some of the hazards and controls found in the hospital setting, and describes standard requirements as well as recommended safe work practices for employee safety and health.
With healthcare being in the compliance spotlight recently, how can you keep up with all of the applicable OSHA regulations and target enforcement programs? This live audio conference will help you understand the OSHA programs targeting and emphasizing healthcare and the programs that are likely to receive greater scrutiny from OSHA. A list of the most recently cited violations during healthcare inspections will be discussed in order to prepare you for a possible inspection.

Program #4: The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): Meeting the Needs of Patients, Visitors, Employees and Volunteers in your Healthcare Facility

Additionally, any renovations, additions or new construction were to be in full compliance with the ADA. We will cover what this means to the healthcare facility designer and manager.

Program #5: Proactive Construction Risk Assessment and Management (PCRAM)© - Does your Facility Meet JCAHO Standards?
This CD presents a comprehensive approach to assessing and managing construction related risks. The PCRAM© approach is designed to evaluate environmental, occupational, infection control, life safety, and other risks during the design phase of a construction and to manage the identified risks for the full duration of the project.

The presentation focuses on a new study that demonstrates how to reduce infections through new technology that can eliminate microorganism growth inside a hospital's air handlers (part of the heating ventilation air conditioning system).
We will provide insight on how implementing new technology can reduce energy use, improve care and save costs associated with staffing and pharmaceutical use.
